Comprehensive Real Estate Expert

James Schiller I am originally from Columbia, SC where I graduated from The University of South Carolina where I received my diploma in Media Arts.

In 1998 during my last semester at U.S.C. is where I began my career in the world of real estate as a mortgage loan officer. In April of 1999 I moved to Charleston, SC I and started as a loan officer for a small correspondent lender in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Shortly thereafter I decided to go out on my own and opened Mortgage Professionals, LLC  in the fall of 2002 where I was blessed to have great associates contribute to the success of the company until Dec. 2009. At one point I had as many as 13 employees and associates. I am proud to say we were preferred lender on many developments and closed almost $85 Million in home loans. Most of my personal clientele' was in Mount Pleasant, Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Daniel Island, and Downtown historic Charleston.

In the summer 2006 I decided to get my real estate license because I owned quite a bit of real estate myself, and had many friends and contacts that needed a real estate agent that could offer more. In my opinion the real estates sales business was in need of more experienced business minded Realtors. By having first hand knowledge of owning a business where I had to manage the marketing, negotiations, and develop sales strategies, I felt this gave me a broader range of skills to differentiate myself from most real estate agents in the Charleston SC area.

Then in 2008 an insurance company based out of Columbia, SC offered me the chance to head up the beginnings of a new push to open a coastal office of their agency. So it was I went to insurance school and began to learn everything I could about home owners/hazard property, flood, and wind insurance. (I suspect I was the only licensed and accredited realtor, mortgage expert, and insurance agent on the east coast).

Alas it wasn't to be. With the financial crash in 2008 came new changes in federal lending and real estate regulations that prohibited me from helping my clients with all three services at once and I was forced to relinquish my mortgage and insurance license, and thus focus solely on my real estate clients.
